Personal Narratives revisited:

Remember when we started the semester by writing about your 'Personal Oasis'? We will be ending the course by writing another personal narrative that also focuses on descriptive writing.

This time you will choose a favourite memory to write about.​

You will have 2-3 classes to plan, write, revise and submit your paper.
-
It is due by the end of the day on Thursday.

Writing: My Favourite Memory​

Period 3
​
As a class, you will be listening to a Massey Lecture by author Thomas King. You will be provided with a copy of the lecture and a highlighter, so you can follow along. After the lecture (~45min), you will complete three double-entries in your learning journal.

As you are listening, follow along with the transcript copy (in the basket under the television).

​Highlight parts of the lecture that resonate with you (things you find interesting, make connections, ask questions, reflect).

Learning Journal Entry: after the lecture you are to write three double-entries in your Learning Journal. A double entry is when you quote a passage from from the lecture and then write your personal connection to it. Here is an example.

3. After you have sent me your paper, you should work on your Novel Study it's due next Tuesday!
