When we read between the lines of text, we are inferring.  When we infer we are looking for the deeper meaning in a piece of writing. Choose a song you really love to listen to.  Analyze the song lyrics for the deeper meaning of the song, then add your personal connection or meaning to your reflection.

Step 1:  Choose a song you really love to listen to.

Step 2:  Find a copy of the song lyrics and place them on page 1 of your assignment.

Step 3:  Explain what you believe the song means. What do you think the song is about?  

             What message are the songwriter(s) hoping you will take away from the song? 

             Make sure you support your inferences with specific lines from the lyrics.

Step 4:  Hidden meaning!  What does this song mean to you?  What is your personal

             connection to the song?  What does this song make you think about?  How do you 

             feel when you listen to this song?

Step 4:  Submit your assignment to Ms. Miller by Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
